Arturo Vidal will remain with Barcelona at least until the end of this season according to a report from Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo.

The 32-year-old Chilean international central midfielder looked set to leave the Blaugrana this month as Inter showed an extremely keen interest in signing him but Barcelona held firm with their demands which ultimately forced Inter to look elsewhere.

Vidal was said to be very unhappy at the reigning La Liga champions due to his lack of regular play time and the club’s failure to pay out certain bonuses but Ernesto Valverde’s sacking and the appointment of Quique Setien has convinced Vidal to stick around, at least for now.

The former Juventus and Bayern Munich player has made 22 appearances across all competitions this season. In just under 1000 minutes on the field, he has scored six goals and provided two assists for his teammates at the Camp Nou.
