Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio’s failure to complete the swap deal with Roma involving Matteo Politano and Leonardo Spinazzola could cost him his future with the club according to a report in today’s print edition of Libero.

The two clubs had agreed terms over the exchange on a loan with obligation to buy basis but the deal completely collapsed at the last minute as Inter tried to change the terms of the deal, much to the annoyance of Roma, who, as per some reports, are working out if its possible to take legal action against Inter.

Ausilio’s contract with the club is due to expire at the end of the season and whilst there has been talk of a contract renewal for some time now, nothing has transpired and may never transpire after the events of the past week.

Ausilio has served in his current role since February 2014 and the next six months could well prove to be his last in his role at the club.
