Flamengo are confident that they can complete the signing of Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa from Inter during the course of this week according to a report from Globo Esporte.

The Rio de Janeiro based club remain in talks with all parties regarding the transfer and some details still need to be ironed out both with the player himself regarding personal terms and Inter regarding the transfer fee.

The report from the Brazilian news outlet goes on to detail that Gabigol will sign at least a four year contract with the reigning Brazilian champions, who spent all of 2019 out on loan with.

The 23-year-old striker made a profound impact during his time with the Rubronegro club, scoring no less than 43 goals and providing 13 assists in 58 appearances across all competitions.

Gabigol joined Inter back in the Summer of 2016 in a circa €30 million deal from Santos but failed to meet expectations and was limited to just 10 appearances across all competitions in a Nerazzurri shirt.
