Inter manager Antonio Conte has made Romelu Lukaku an extra captain of sorts according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset.

Conte has entrusted the Belgian international striker with several duties including the welcoming of the new signings from the Premier League in Ashley Young and Victor Moses and helping them to settle into life in Milan.

Moreover, Conte has the 26-year-old acting as a mentor to teen sensation Sebastiano Esposito and striker partner Lautaro Martinez to help both players grow and realise their potential.

Lukaku is seen as a very important figure in the dressing room by the squad due to his personality and work ethic and whilst he will not have a captain’s armband on his arm on the pitch, he is certainly seen like another captain.

He completed a club record €65 million transfer to Inter this past Summer and has been in sensational form since his arrival at the club.

In 26 appearances across all competitions, the former Manchester United man has netted 18 goals and tallied four assists.
