Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has returned to Naples after Matteo Politano reiterated that he only wishes to join Roma according to a report from FCInterNews.it.

Napoli and Inter are understood to have reached a deal over the former Sassuolo winger but that deal now hangs in the balance as the 26-year-old is waiting on Roma to come back in for him.

Roma and Inter had agreed to a swap deal that would have seen Politano and Leonardo Spinazzola exchanged but that deal collapsed at the last minute when Inter tried to change the terms of the deal.

Roma are well aware of what Inter’s demands for Politano are and they also know that Inter are relying on Politano departing in order to complete the signing of Olivier Giroud from Chelsea.

The Giallorossi club are therefore confident that Inter will drop their demands, even just slightly for Politano, who has found playing time limited this season.
