Everton have made a €15 million offer for Inter midfielder Matias Vecino, according to a report from Italian media outlet FcInterNews today.

The report details how the English club have shown the most interest in the 28-year-old Uruguayan midfielder over the last few days, offering the Nerazzurri €15 million for his signature. The figure is not satisfactory for the Milanese side, who want €20 million for Vecino, due to economic reasons rather than a desire to retain the midfielder’s services.

Whilst there is distance, the report continues, the offer is a significant step in opening negotiations for Vecino’s signature. The Uruguayan is no longer part of coach Antonio Conte’s plans and the imminent arrival of Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen would see Vecino earn even less time on the pitch. There is less than a week left in the transfer window but his agent, Alessandro Lucci, is working to reach an agreement with the English club as soon as possible.
