Player Ratings Inter 1 – 1 Cagliari: Radja Nainggolan Gets His Revenge On Inter & Conte

Inter drew Radja Nainggolan’s Cagliari at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district almost 10 days after demolishing the same team in the Coppa Italia.

It was written in the stars that Cagliari were going to go home with a point thanks to a Radja Nainggolan goal and that was exactly what happened in a match where Inter were poor but the officiating atrocious.

Samir Handanovic – 6: Good game by the captain who did what needed to be done when called upon. Bastoni’s deflection wrong-footed him for the goal.

Milan Skriniar – 6: Had to be substituted in the 17th minute as he felt dizzy due to not having recovered from the flu. Replaced by Diego Godin.

Stefan de Vrij – 6,5: The most consistent player at Inter this season continues to deliver good performances. Never puts a foot wrong and defends elegantly.

Alessandro Bastoni – 6: A decent game by the youngster who did well throughout the match. Unlucky that the goal defelcted off of him wrongfooting Handa.

Ashley Young – 6,5: Very good debut by the experienced Englishman. Provided the assist for the goal and should have been awarded a penalty.

Nicolo Barella – 6,5: Scored a goal that was correctly disallowed for offside. Still not back to his best form after his injury but this was a step in the right way.

Borja Valero – 6: His attitude is an example for all footballers, young and old. Plays football primarily by using his brain and has a technique to match.

Stefano Sensi – 5,5: Worst performance in an Inter shirt. Still marred by the injury but the intentions are there. Needs more minutes to get back to his best.

Cristiano Biraghi – 4: Abysmal. Unwatchable. In this form he isn’t good enough to even start for Inter’s U-15 side. Send him back to Fiorentina now.

Lautaro Martinez – 5: Good goal and a good performance before displaying an embarrassingly lack of professionalism and discipline by getting himself sent off by insulting the referee.

Romelu Lukaku – 6: His link-up play is world class, so also today. Almost scored a dreamgoal but generally he seemed a bit out of sorts.

Diego Godin – 6,5: Did a good job when called upon and very nearly got an assist when Lautaro’s shot was saved by Cragnó. Can hopefully build on this.

Alexis Sanchez -N/A: Came on in the 82nd minute and didn’t play long enough to be rated.

Federico Dimarco – N/A: Brought on in the 85th minute and didn’t play long enough to be rated.

Antonio Conte – 5,5: Waited far too long in making tactical changes. Ranting and screaming at the players may make the fans happy but not what he’s paid for.

Gianluca Manganiello – 2: Got 20% of all calls right hence the rating. The worst refereeing performance in Italy this season. Embarrassingly poor.

Inter – 5: The team can’t blame the referee for an all round poor performance. Made so many unforced errors it was painful to watch at times.
