Inter’s latest signing, Danish international midfielder Christian Eriksen, has told the club’s official TV channel Inter TV, that he couldn’t wait for his transfer to the Nerazzurri to become official.

The Dane spoke to Inter TV moments after the Nerazzurri unveiled the player as their latest signing from Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur.

“I couldn’t wait to join, it’s wonderful to be here and I’m happy to be a new Inter player. I’m very excited and can’t wait to introduce myself to the fans. I’ve already experienced their warmth, it’s been a fantastic welcome. I feel great.”

“I’m not really someone who places great importance on statistics but I know that there are people who like talking about this.”

“The numbers say that I did really well in England. It’s now time to start a new challenge, I’m really happy to have the opportunity to play in Serie A for a big team. Inter is a fantastic club.”

Eriksen joined Tottenham in August 2013 from Dutch giants Ajax in a deal who at the time was reported to be worth €12.45 million and has since then featured 305 times across all competitions scoring 69 goals in the process.

Despite managing to make himself a household name whilst at Spurs, he and the club failed to win any silverware during his time at the club following a defeat in the Champions League final last spring against Liverpool as well as losing the League Cup final during the 2014/2015 season to Manchester City.

This was in stark contrast to his time at Ajax where he won the Dutch league thrice as well as winning the Dutch Cup and Super Cup.
