Inter central midfielder Nicolo Barella spoke with Italian broadcaster RAI Sport immediately after the full time whistle following Inter’s 2-1 victory over Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia quarter final.

The Italian international scored what proved to be Inter’s winning goal as he scored an excellent half volley late in the second half which means Inter have a semi final date with Napoli.

Inter’s semi final first leg will take place on February 12 and the second leg will take place on March 4. Inter will face either AC Milan or Juventus if they are to triumph in the semi final.

Barella firstly spoke on the team’s performance.

“I have to learn to score easier goals. We deserved this win and we deserve to be going through to the next round. In the league we have to give more and be luckier in some circumstances. There is still plenty time though. My time with Inter is going well, we are doing something important.”

He then spoke on new signing Christian Eriksen who made his first team debut following his recent transfer from Tottenham Hotspur.

“He is a champion, who helps us raise our level even more.”

Barella has made 21 appearances across all competitions for the Nerazzurri this season. In 1464 minutes on the field. the former Cagliari player, who joined Inter this past Summer, has scored three goals and provided five assists for his teammates.
