Inter captain Samir Handanovic is unavailable for today’s league clash against Udinese and may even miss next weekend’s Milanese derby, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the 35-year-old Slovenian goalkeeper left with his teammates for Udine yesterday but started suffering from a finger problem. The injury isn’t small and may even force him off the pitch for a few weeks.

Today, 34-year-old Italian shot stopper Daniele Padelli will fill in for the number one, the report continues. This is the player’s league debut for the Nerazzurri, with his last league game being with Torino in August off 2016. His only two appearances for Inter came in the Coppa Italia, first against Pordenone in December of 2017 and then against Benevento in January of 2019.

On the bench will be 17-year-old Serbian goalkeeper Filip Stankovic, the report adds. The player, who is part of the Inter Primavera squad, is the son of Inter fan favourite Dejan Stankovic.
