Inter’s Dutch international central defender Stefan de Vrij stopped by Italian broadcaster InterTV moments ago to share his thoughts on tonight’s Serie A clash at the Dacia Arena when Udinese host the Nerazzurri, with kick-off scheduled for 20.45 CET.
The former Lazio man underlined that the Nerazzurri want to get back to winning ways as soon as possible but that tonight’s opponent cannot be underestimated as they are a very physically strong side.
“We are playing against a very strong opponent, they are every good and they defend using their physique. They are a physical side. We have to get back to winning ways in the league.
“We did well in the Coppa Italia but now we will do everything we can to go home with the three points. We know Udinese really well, especially how they attack. However, we are ready and we will look to win.”
The Dutch international then spoke to RAI Sport a few minutes later, where he was asked what qualities new signing Christian Eriksen offers the Nerazzurri, to which de Vrij made it clear that he thinks that the former Spurs man is world class player.
“We all know that he is a world class player. He is very strong and has great technique, intelligence and creativity. He will give us a great hand.
“We have to continue believing in ourselves and our qualities. We need to return to winning which we’ve been missing lately.”
The former Feyenoord man joined Inter in July 2018 on a free transfer after his contract with Lazio had expired and he had refused to sign a new contract.
Since making the move to the black and blue side of Milan, de Vrij has featured 51 times across all competitions scoring three times in the process.
