Italian journalist Fabio Caressa discussed Inter’s three January acquisitions in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Deejay yesterday.

First, Caressa discussed Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen, who made his Inter debut against Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia earlier this week.

“It’s possible that Conte is making Eriksen play as a fake second striker, I see him more there than as a mezzala, he doesn’t have the pace to be a mezzala.”

The 52-year-old Italian journalist then touched on English full back Ashley Young and Nigerian midfielder Victor Moses.

“Moses had his best season with Conte, and he hopes to repeat that, he has a lot of hope. They spoke well of Ashley Young, according to Capello, he lacks the fight in a one on one. The problem is that Asamoah that doesn’t give guarantees due to his physical condition.”

Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen joined the Nerazzurri on a four-and-a-half-year deal from Spurs last month, in a deal worth around €20 million. The 27-year-old, who spent seven years in North London, made 305 appearances for the club across all competitions. In that time, he scored 69 goals and provided 89 assists, quickly becoming open of the most important players in the squad.

Former Manchester United full back Ashley Young has joined the Nerazzurri on a six-month deal with an option to extend for next season included. The 34-year-old Englishman made 261 appearances for the Red Devils over nine years. In that time, he scored 19 goals and provided 43 assists.
