Inter Captain Handanovic Facing 3-4 Weeks Out On The Sidelines With Hand Injury

Inter goalkeeper and club captain Samir Handanovic is facing between three and four weeks out on the sidelines with a hand injury according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

News emerged prior to yesterday’s 2-0 triumph away to Udinese that the Slovenian shot-stopper had hurt his hand and was replaced in the team by Daniele Padelli, who made his first Serie A start since joining Inter back in the Summer of 2017.

Handanovic injured his hand during training on Friday but still travelled with the team to Udine and even went on the bench in order to support his teammates.

The injury occurred just a few hours before the transfer window shut and at the time it had happened, Inter had already loaned out Ionut Radu to Parma. The report claims that had there been another day, Inter would have, in all likelihood, recruited a replacement.

This season Handanovic has made 29 appearances across all competitions this season, in which he has kept eight clean sheets.
