Inter Coach Antonio Conte: “Ashley Young & Victor Moses Have Given Us Experience That We Needed”

Inter coach Antonio Conte discussed the Nerazzurri’s important 2-0 win in the Serie A away over Udinese last night in an interview with Italian broadcaster InterTV, shortly after the game.

“It was a good match, against a good team. A well-deserved victory, for the opportunities we had. In the first meeting Udinese made us suffer a lot at the San Siro. We suffered less than in the first meeting.

“The importance of having good players on bench? I remember we played with Bastoni who’s 20 and Esposito who’s 17. We’re working for the present, but also for the future, this is more important.”

The 50-year-old Italian coach then spoke about the importance of the Milanese clubs next game, the derby against AC Milan on Sunday night

“A game that we will have to be prepared for, as always, through work. We know very well the importance of the match for our fans. For us, at the same time, it will be an important challenge for the three points.”

Finally, Conte discussed the performances of new arrivals Ashley Young and Victor Moses, who both joined the club from English teams last month.

“They integrated immediately. I think they did very well. They’re certainly giving us quality in one on one’s, and that’s important. We managed to raise the level of experience and specificity in the role a little bit with the transfer window.”

Inter are still second in the league table after 22 games, only three points behind rivals and league leaders Juventus. The Nerazzurri’s win over Udinese today is their first league win since their 3-1 win over Napoli at the start of the year. The club could drop down to third place, as Lazio have a game in hand and are only two points behind.

Udinese are now 15th in the league, losing their last three league games. The Friulian club are only eight points above the drop zone.
