Inter goalkeeper Daniele Padelli discussed the Nerazzurri’s vital 2-0 win over Udinese in the league last night, as well as his Serie A debut with Inter, in an interview with Italian broadcaster InterTV shortly after the game.
“Udine is a bit of a debut city for me. Here I made my Serie A debut with Bari and now Inter, and I also made my debut in the Europa League.
“When the whistle blows at the start the excitement passed, when the ball is in play, you have to think about that. And to do your duty 110%.”
The 34-year-old Italian shot stopper then spoke about his performance in the game.
“I’m happy, because after so much time not playing, I think I’m ready. That gives me self-esteem, I think I’m working in the right way.”
Finally, Padelli spoke about Inter captain Samir Handanovic and how it felt to work with the 35-year-old Slovenian goalkeeper.
“With him and Tommaso Berni, there’s a really tight-knit group, if Samir is doing well, I’m the first to cheer. And vice versa. This pushes us to improve.
“I think Samir is happy with me too. Replacing him is not easy, Handanovic is the strongest in Europe.”
The 34-year-old Italian goalkeeper, whose contract expires with the Milanese club in June of this year, made his Serie A debut for the Nerazzurri, despite joining from Torino in the summer of 2017.
The player previously made 116 appearances for the Granata in his four years with the club, keeping 29 clean sheets and conceding 146 goals in that time.
Padelli impressed in last night’s game, making all the necessary saves to ensure that the Nerazzurri would walk away from the game victorious.
