In his latest weekly column, which appeared in today’s print edition of Milan based newspaper Corriere della Sera, respected Italian football journalist Mario Sconcerti has reflected on the performance of Christian Eriksen in Inter’s 2-0 win over Udinese.
The Danish international attacking midfielder came into the starting line-up for the first time since his arrival from Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur on a four and a half year deal.
The 27-year-old, who is understood to have joined Inter for just €20 million, did not perform to his best though at the Stadio Friuli and it is clear that it will take him some more time to get into the swing of things at the Nerazzurri.
“Eriksen only played safe passes, just like any novice would. I think we could have expected more from him. He is inside the cloud of a large midfield department,” Sconcerti began.
“Eriksen is not an absolute champions but he is a great player. Inter actually changed a lot when Eriksen went off of the pitch and Brozovic came onto the pitch.”
Sconcerti also reflected on Victor Moses’ performance in the match. The Nigerian international like Eriksen, was making his second appearance and his first start following his arrival during the January transfer window from Chelsea.
“Moses is not someone who goes unnoticed. He did more than Eriksen but was a victim to his opponent a lot more. His opponent Sema managed to get past his several times.”
