Samir Handanovic does not wish to miss this weekend’s Milan derby and could grit his teeth through the pain in order to play according to a report in today’s print edition of Il Giornale.

The Slovenian international goalkeeper is currently dealing with a hairline fracture to a finger in his left hand and whilst he should really miss the match in order to recover, he is trying all he can to make sure he can be there to help out his teammates.

According to the report from the Milan based newspaper, Handanovic is eager to play as he wishes to put an end to a long running streak AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has.

The 38-year-old Swede has in fact scored in his debut in the Milan derby for both sides and also scored on his first Barcelona derby appearance between Barcelona and Espanyol as well as the Manchester derby between Manchester United and Manchester City and most recently the Los Angelos derby between LA Galaxy and Los Angeles FC.
