Inter manager Antonio Conte and goalkeeper Samir Handanovic do not want to take any risks with his condition according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

Handanovic sustained a hairline fracture to one of his fingers in training a week ago and is desperate to be available to help out his teammates in Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina with AC Milan.

He and Conte are however well aware that things could get even worse if he is to play and it might mean that surgery is required.

It remains to be seen if the risk will be taken to deploy the 35-year-old Slovenian international. Should the decision be taken not to play him, Daniele Padelli, who deputised for him last week, will do so again against the Rossoneri.

The report from the Rome based newspaper goes on to state that Conte will have both Borja Valero and Stefano Sensi back at his disposal with them both having recovered from their recent injury troubles.
