Inter manager Antonio Conte has major reservations about the idea of risking Samir Handanovic in tomorrow night’s Derby della Madonnina with AC Milan according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport 24.

Handanovic is currently dealing with a hairline fracture to one of his fingers and is doing everything he possibly can to try and be back but Conte does not wish to deploy him due to the risk that his injury could turn into something more serious.

Moreover, Conte does not want to start the 35-year-old shot-stopper for him to get injured during the game and have to ‘waste’ a substitute when the situation could have been avoided entirely.

Conte is therefore still thinking of calling upon Daniele Padelli for what would be the second game running. Handanovic missed the 2-0 win over Udinese due to injury and Padelli deputised for him in what was his first Serie A match for Inter.
