Tomorrow’s derby between Inter and AC Milan is worth more than €1 billion, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Corriere della Sera.

The report details how the two squads are worth €1.086 billion, with the Nerazzurri ahead contributing €683 million to that figure and the Rossoneri contributing €400 million. The two Milanese clubs are the third and fifth highest value squads in Italy. First and second are Juventus who are worth €760 million and Napoli who are worth €688 million. Ahead of the Rossoneri is Roma, worth €440.

The two clubs are fighting for different goals, the report continues, in part due to the different investments made by the owners. The Suning group have ensured that Inter’s turnover is far higher than AC Milan’s, by investing more heavily and securing new sponsorships. Inter’s turnover is €365 million, much higher than the Rossoneri’s €206 million turnover. Inter are currently 19 points ahead of AC Milan.
