Italian actor and Inter fan Alessandro Besentini discussed tomorrow’s derby clash against AC Milan in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.
“We’re not only the strongest on paper but you only have to look at the league table to see that we have 51 points, while AC Milan are 19 points behind. That’s got to mean something! And then, let’s face it, they haven’t won a derby in four years, and that’s how it will be this time too.”
The 48-year-old Milanese native then discussed Inter coach Antonio Conte.
“We have the strongest coach around. Conte is a winner, he has shown it in the past years, and now, with the staff he has at his disposal, he can really work miracles, the games are not finished yet, we’ll see.”
Finally, Besentini touched on the importance of the Milanese derby and how it’s impossible to predict.
“It’s true that derbies are a separate thing, not always can predictions be respected, because different factors take over compared to a normal game, but I assure you that the derby in Milan is certainly the most exciting of all. Every time, I get excited, like a child.”
The Rossoneri are currently 19 points behind the Nerazzurri, sitting at 9th place in the league. However, the club have experienced a period of relatively solid form, not losing in their last five league games under the guidance of coach Stefano Pioli. The Milanese side are only one point behind 6th place Bologna.
Inter, on the other hand, are 2nd in the league table after 22 games, sitting three points behind Juventus and one point ahead of 3rd place Lazio. The Nerazzurri have won their last three league meetings against AC Milan.
AC Milan’s strong form means that they have picked up 11 points so far in 2020, two points more than Inter.
