Paris Saint Germain coach Thomas Tuchel discussed Inter owned forward Mauro Icardi when speaking to gathered reporters in a press conference earlier this afternoon, ahead of tomorrow’s league clash against Lyon. His words were noted by French media outlet Parisien.

“Yeah, I’m a little worried when the attackers don’t score, when there’s a chance. Difficulties are coming. Now he is thinking too much and the goalkeepers save his shots. He wasn’t thinking before, there was luck.”

The German coach then spoke about the Argentine striker’s goal against Nantes earlier this week.

“Perhaps this goal against Nantes can restore his confidence. I hope he can find the right rhythm and that everything can be easier. Cavani is still important, he’s gaining his condition and that’s good for us.”

The 26-year-old Argentine forward is currently on loan with the French giants from Inter, with a €70 million buy option attached. However, Icardi could return to Milan this summer if the Parisian club don’t decide to activate the buy option, a future Inter’s management are keen to avoid.

Icardi has made 26 appearances across all competitions so far this season for PSG, playing a total of 1745 minutes. In that time, he has scored 18 goals and providing four assists, making a goal contribution every 80 minutes. His goal against Nantes earlier this week was his first goal in the league in 2020.
