Inter CEO Beppe Marotta stopped by Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia moments ago to share his thoughts on all things concerning the Nerazzurri, ahead of the derby della Madonnina in the Serie A at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district, when the Nerazzurri host AC Milan with kick-off scheduled for 20.45 CET.

The former Juventus CEO was asked how he views tonight’s derby in terms of the importance it has on the entire Nerazzurri project he has been in charge of just over 12 months, where Marotta underlined this is yet another chance for the team to show how much they have grown.

“I see another hurdle that needs to be overtaken, it is a path that we have begun walking on this year.

“We have still not achieved any of our objectives and in order to do so we have to give everything we have fulfilling the potential we have, both players and staff.”

Marotta was then asked just how important the desire to win the Serie A title is at the Nerazzurri before asking him to comment on the rumors concerning Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, who has in recent weeks been linked with a shock move to Inter in the summer.

“We are concentrated on tonight’s match, we have to focus on ourselves. We are playing a derby, it is an important test.

“It is a very heated match for both sets of fans as well as for the league table and we have to give an answer worthy of our growth. We are doing well, I’m optimistic for the future, the coach is putting his imprint on this team. I have no comment on Lionel Messi.”
