Italian Report Suggests Inter To Start With Romelu Lukaku As The Sole Striker Against AC Milan

A report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia earlier today has suggested that Inter will play with an attacking duo of Romelu Lukaku and Christian Eriksen against AC Milan tonight.

The report details how coach Antonio Conte will line up the Nerazzurri in a 3-5-1-1 formation, with Lukaku leading the squad and Eriksen playing as a number 10 behind him. Marcelo Brozovic, Matias Vecino and Nicolo Barella will be in the middle of the pitch, with Antonio Candreva to the right and Ashley Young on the left.

The 50-year-old Italian coach will then have to decide whether to start veteran defender Diego Godin or Italian full back Danilo D’Ambrosio alongside Milan Skriniar and Stefan De Vrij, the report continues. Daniele Padelli is certain to start, due to Samir Handanovic’s injury.

The other option, the report adds, is that Conte will start Inter as a 3-5-2, with former Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez playing alongside Lukaku, with either Eriksen or Vecino playing in the midfield three.
