In an interview with Italian radio station TMW Radio earlier on today, former Inter full back Massimo Paganin shared his delight about Inter’s 4-2 Derby della Madonnina win over AC Milan last night at San Siro.

AC Milan went into the half time interval with a deserved two goal advantage over their hosts but Inter flipped the game on its head in the second half and went on to dominate their Rossoneri opposition as they quickly got back on level terms before taking the lead soon after that. Romelu Lukaku then put the game beyond reach with a goal in the final few minutes.

“Inter are doing very well, also from a mental point of view. It was seen in the second half of the derby,” Paganin, who spent four years with Inter between 1993 and 1997, explained in the interview.

Paganin, who also played for the likes of Brescia and Sampdoria during a 20 year playing career, then went on to suggest that a result such as the one the Nerazzurri achieved is season changing.

“These are the moments that can change the season. I can’t remember such an exciting derby. Given the first half, I did not think that Inter could have overturned the score like they did.”

He also discussed the race for the Serie A title.

“Inter and Lazio are playing well and they will fight it out until the end with Juve. Football is beautiful because it is unpredictable.”
