Samir Handanovic could make a return to action from injury in Inter’s Serie A match with Sampdoria in little under two weeks time according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

Handanovic has missed Inter’s past two games as a result of a hairline fracture to the small finger of his left hand. He will miss tonight’s Coppa Italia semi final first leg against Napoli, Sunday’s match against Napoli and the Europa League match with Ludogorets too.

Inter have had free agent Emiliano Viviano training with them as of late but with Handanovic set to return in 11 days time, should there be no complications, the report questions whether Inter really need to bring in another goalkeeper or not.

For the time being Inter manager Antonio Conte is pushing for a new goalkeeper to be added in the event that Handanovic suffers a set back or a fresh injury.

Handanovic should be re-examined by club medical staff in the coming days and depending on the outcome of those tests, Conte will either tell Viviano that he is needed or not needed.
