Kalidou Koulibaly will start on the bench for Napoli in tonight’s Coppa Italia semi final first leg against Inter according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.
Koulibaly has been injured lately and although he started in the 3-2 loss to Lecce over the weekend, he is not quite in top condition or form and Napoli managaer Gennaro Gattuso does not wish to grant Inter an advantage that can be avoided by simply starting him on the bench.
The report from the Milan based newspaper goes on to state that Gattuso will go with an attacking trident of Lorenzo Insigne, Dries Mertens and Jose Callejon, a trident who have served the club very well when all playing together.
The trio have 20 goals between themselves this season and Gattuso will be expecting them to increase that total tonight against the Nerazzurri.
Tonight’s match is scheduled to kick off at 20:45 local time.
