Alexis Sanchez’s high salary makes the possibility of a permanent stay at Inter past this season complicated according to a report from FCInterNews.it.

The Chilean international joined Inter on a season long loan from Premier League club Manchester United this past Summer and has a current annual net pay packet of no less than €12 million, the majority of which United are paying whilst Sanchez is in Milan.

United wish to get rid of Sanchez on a permanent basis come the Summer but could find it hard to find a club willing to pay for him and then take on his bumper salary. However, a strong finish to the end of the season with Inter from Sanchez could change things.

The report goes on to state that Inter have long been courting Napoli attacker Dries Mertens, whose contract is due to expire at the end of this season and he could end up being Sanchez’s replacement.
