Samir Handanovic’s condition will be re-examined by Inter’s medical staff tomorrow if not at the beginning of next week according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

The veteran Slovenian international goalkeeper has been sidelined due to a hairline fracture to the small finger of his left hand and most reports have stated that he will not be able to return until the end of this month or the beginning of next month.

Due to the 35-year-old’s injury troubles, Daniele Padelli has had to deputise in his absence but Inter could still bring in some additional cover just to be on the safe side.

Emiliano Viviano underwent and passed a medical with Inter earlier on in the week and trained with the club for a few days.

Inter are however yet to make a decision on whether to employ the free agent until the end of the season and, as confirmed by Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta, a decision will be made in the coming days.
