Sebastiano Esposito is set to be sidelined at least until the end of this month due to injury according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

The club announced yesterday that the teen sensation had picked up an injury in training with tests done by club medical staff confirming he had hurt his rectus femoris muscle in his right thigh.

The 17-year-old striker is therefore set to miss the four matches that Inter will play between now and the end of this month at least meaning he will miss league matches against Lazio and Sampdoria and the Europa League knockout stage double header with Ludogorets.

The Rome based newspaper go on to state that with Esposito to miss the Europa League matches, Inter manager Antonio Conte will need to change his system if he wishes to rest Lautaro Martinez or Romelu Lukaku, who would have been rested and replaced by Esposito had he been available.

As per the report, Conte could opt for a 3-5-1-1 system and play Christian Eriksen in behind Alexis Sanchez. He could also use a 3-4-2-1 and have Eriksen and Stefano Sensi behind Sanchez.
