Inter knocked back an important offer for central midfielder Roberto Gagliardini during the recent January transfer window according to a report from CalcioMercato.com.

Premier League side West Ham United came in with a loan with option to buy offer for the Italian national team midfielder and despite the big money on offer, Inter were not keen on doing any deal due to the transfer formula.

Moreover, the player himself was not keen on the move as he wanted to remain with Inter, who he joined in January 2017.

The 25-year-old who is under contract with the club until the end of the 2022/23 season has struggled for playing time as of late due to injury with bone edema in one of his feet causing him to miss Inter’s past six games across all competitions.

Since the turn of the year, he has made just two appearances for the club, with his last appearance coming in the 1-1 Serie A draw at home to Atalanta at the beginning of January.
