Napoli centre back Kostas Manolas is refusing to get ahead of himself after their Coppa Italia semi final first leg win over Inter last night at San Siro.

Fabian Ruiz’s goal just before the hour mark proved enough to give the Partenopei a 1-0 win over Inter and an advantage heading into the second leg which is scheduled to take place at the beginning of next month at the Stadio San Paolo.

The Greek international defender, who joined Napoli during the Summer transfer window from Napoli, started the interview with Italian broadcaster Rai Sport after the match by celebrating the win over the high flying Nerazzurri.

“After a heavy home defeat to Lecce, we put in a great performance this evening and all the lads deserve credit. We lifted our heads against a strong team that is challenging for the Scudetto at the moment.”

He was then asked about who he thinks between themselves and Inter will make it to the Coppa Italia final in May, in which the winner of this tie will face either Juventus or AC Milan.

“Qualification is still 50-50, because Inter are a great team, they will come to the San Paolo looking to play their game, so we want to win the second leg too.”

The 28-year-old has made 23 appearances across all competitions this season and has scored two goals in that time.
