Stefano Sensi is to face yet another period out on the sidelines through injury, the club have just announced through way of a statement posted on the official club website.

The Italian national team midfielder took a knock to his foot during Wednesday night’s Coppa Italia semi final first leg lost to Napoli and his condition was evaluated earlier on today at the Humanitas Institute of Rozzano hospital in Milan.

The tests showed that he has sustained a hairline fracture to the navicular bone of his left foot and the club have confirmed that the 24-year-old’s condition will be re-evaluated next week.

Sensi is therefore certain to miss this coming Sunday’s top of the table clash away to Lazio and it remains to be seen if he will be back in time for Inter’s Europa League round of 32 first leg match away to Bulgarian outfit Ludogorets next Thursday.

Sensi joined Inter this past Summer on a season long loan with option to buy deal from fellow Serie A club Sassuolo but his season has been largely disrupted by a series of different injuries. He has played a total of 17 games, in which he has scored three goals and tallied four assists.
