Inter have tabled a five year contract offer to Manchester United starlet Tahith Chong according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Dutch youth international attacker is out of contract with the Premier League side come the end of the season and will therefore be able to join Inter on a free transfer come the Summer.

The salary Inter have offered him starts slightly below the €2 million per year mark and will rise over the duration of his contract.

Inter feel very optimistic about their chances of finalising a deal for the 20-year-old, who has been with United since the Summer of 2018.

The report from the Milan based newspaper goes on to add that the idea of Chong being loaned to Inter’s Chinese sister club Jiangsu Suning, due to his Chinese heritage, should he sign, is now no longer being considered.

This season Chong has made eight appearances across all competitions at first team level for United but he has been unable to make any goal contributions during his time on the field.
