Cagliari have announced via an official statement on their club website that they have issued lifetime bans to three fans they have identified as having chanted racist things towards opposition players lately.

Inter striker Romelu Lukaku, Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi and former Juventus striker Moise Kean, now of Everton, have all been subjected to racist and discriminatory chanting when they have played against the Rossoblu at the Sardegna Arena.

Lukaku was targeted right at the beginning of this season when Inter travelled to Sardinia. Chants were particularly noticeable as he prepared to take a penalty and after he slotted the penalty home.

The Belgian international, who has been very vocal about the need for racism to be dealt with, proceeded to stare down the section of the ground where the chants originated from.

Cagliari were initially criticised by many over their lack of action but have now moved to ban the three individuals from attending their games for life having worked together with the security who are in charge of their games to identify them.
