If Barcelona want to take Lautaro Martinez from Inter this summer they’ll need to offer Antoine Griezmann in exchange, according to a report.

The Blaugrana’s interest in the Argentine prodigy is well known, and he scored against them at Camp Nou in October’s Champions League meeting.

According to Tuttosport, Barça have identified Martinez as their big summer signing and compatriot Lionel Messi is pushing for him to be brought to Catalonia.

While Lautaro is not unhappy at Inter the pull of playing with Messi is very strong and, according to the newspaper, the two clubs have been in contact for some time.

For Financial Fair Play reasons Barcelona do not intend to pay the striker’s €111m release clause before July 15, after which Inter would demand a fee in the region of €150m.

Barça hope to reach that fee by including players in exchange, including long-time Inter target and Antonio Conte favourite Arturo Vidal, as well as Carles Alena.

Other options include Phillipe Coutinho, a former Nerazzurro, if Bayern Munich don’t sign him outright but, Tuttosport reports, the real dream for Inter would be Griezmann.

The French international hasn’t settled since moving from Atletico Madrid and, more importantly, has never found an understanding with Messi.

The arrival of Martinez, and possibly Neymar, would limit his chances further so the Nerazzurri are keen to explore the option of bringing him to San Siro to form a partnership with Romelu Lukaku.
