Inter’s Head Of Youth Roberto Samaden: “We Hope To Recover All The Primavera Boys So We Can Play At Our Best Against Rennes”

Inter’s head of youth development Roberto Samaden has reflected on the results of the Nerazzurri’s oldest academy teams, the Primavera, this past weekend.

Armando Madonna’s Primavera side came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw in the Primavera Derby D’Italia with Juventus, with Samuele Mulattieri grabbing the goal for the Nerazzurri just over 20 minutes before the full time whistle was blown.

“It was a good match against Juventus. It was a match that saw two of the youngest teams in the Primavera league face off. We work as a whole group and try to grow as a collective,” he explained in an interview with Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV earlier on today.

Samaden then went on to praise Inter under 18s manager Andrea Zanchetta has done with his boys, who were 3-1 victors over their Fiorentina counterparts on Sunday.

“The work that Andrea Zanchetta does with the under 18s is very important, he prepares the boys to make them always ready.”

He then went on to discuss the recent UEFA Youth League draw which has pitted Inter’s Primavera against French club Stade Rennais.

The single legged fixture is due to take place on Tuesday March 3, with Inter being the designated home side. If Inter are to succeed against their French counterparts, they will face the winners of Juventus or Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the competition on either the 17th or 18th of March.

“The European competition is the most formative part of our journey, with Rennes it will be an open game, we hope to recover all the boys so we can play at our best.”
