Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio is set to put pen to paper on a two year contract extension with the club according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Milan based newspaper are the latest source to report this news with Corriere della Sera and La Repubblica both also reporting this in the past few days.

Ausilio’s contract with the Nerazzurri was set to expire at the end of this season but will now instead expire at the end of the 2021/22 season, the same contract expiry date as the contracts of Inter manager Antonio Conte and chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta.

Ausilio is Inter’s longest serving management member with his Inter story beginning way back in 1998 when he was involved with the club’s youth academy. He took up his current role in February 2014 when he succeeded Marco Branca.

Some of Ausilio’s best deals include those of Marcelo Brozovic from Dinamo Zagreb and Lautaro Martinez from Racing Club.
