Former Inter midfielder Luis Figo has shared his hopes to see Inter go all the way and win the Serie A title this season.

“Hopefully they can go all the way and win the league. All the Inter fans have been hoping for years to win the Scudetto again,” the former Portuguese national team player explained in an interview with news agency ADNKronos on the sidelines of an event in Berlin, Germany, earlier on today.

Next Figo went on to speak about current Inter manager Antonio Conte and the impact he has made at the Nerazzurri during his time in charge of the club so far.

“Nobody can guarantee you results but with his experience and his history, I expected the impact he has made. The hope is that he can do well, he knows the league well but it is always difficult with a team like Juve.”

He was then asked if he would have liked to have been managed by Conte during his playing days.

“Would I have liked to have been managed by Conte? If he didn’t make me run too much then yes.”

In conclusion Figo spoke on some of the Inter players who have impressed him.

“Lautaro is strong, as is the defence. I think they are doing well in general. Lukaku has had a great impact, he has done well in this team that has many players with international experience, the important thing is that they play as a team.”

Figo spent four years with Inter between the years 2005 and 2009. During his time with the club he made 141 appearances across all competitions, in which he scored 11 goals and provided 29 assists for his teammates. He won seven trophies, including four Serie A titles, whilst with the club.
