Lionel Messi has confirmed that he is loving life in Barcelona, a few weeks on from reports suggesting that he was unhappy and could be about to leave the club.
Tensions rose between the multi-time world player of the year and the club after comments made by sporting director Eric Abidal and reports in Spain, Italy and his native Argentina all highlighted that he has a clause in his contract which enables him to leave for free in the Summer.
When news of this clause existing broke, Inter, Juventus, Paris Saint Germain, Manchester City and Manchester United were all linked with the 32-year-old, who has spent his entire career on the books of the Blaugrana.
“I love Barcelona although I miss Rosario very much. This is my home, I have been here longer than in Argentina. I love Barcelona and in the place where I live, Castelldefels, I live a life that I like very much,” he admitted in an interview with Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo.
This season Messi has made 27 appearances across all competitions. In almost 2300 minutes on the field, he has scored 19 goals and has also tallied 16 assists.
