Lautaro Martinez prefers the idea of a move to Barcelona over all other possibilities according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sera.

The 22-year-old Inter and Argentine national team striker has also drawn links to both Real Madrid and Chelsea among others but there are two main reasons behind him preferring the reigning Spanish champions to them.

The first reason is that Barcelona are prepared to give him an annual salary of no less than €7 million a season, which is around three times his current annual wages at Inter.

The second reason is Lionel Messi. The multi-time world player of the year, as per the report, has tried to convince his national team teammate to join him at the Camp Nou, something Lautaro is likely to have appreciated.

Lautaro has a €111 million release clause in his contract but due to budgetary reasons, Barcelona are not willing to activate it but are willing to do a deal possibly worth as much as €150 million, by including a player or players on top of a cash sum for the former Racing Club attacker.
