The Lega Serie A have today published the match official assignments for this coming weekend’s Serie A action and confirmed that Maurizio Mariani will be the referee for Inter’s match at home to Sampdoria.

The 37-year-old will be taking charge of his 18th game across all competitions to date on Sunday night at San Siro as third placed Inter play host to 17th place Sampdoria.

This will be the third time this season that Mariani will referee a match involving Inter. He refereed Inter’s match day three and match day 16 matches which came against Udinese and Fiorentina which Inter won 1-0 and drew 1-1 in respectively.

It will meanwhile be the first time that he referees a match involving the Blucerchiati, who have won just one of their past five league outings.

Luca Mondin and Mauro Galetto will be Mariani’s assistants whilst Marco Piccinini will be the fourth official. Gianluca Aureliano will be in charge of VAR and will have Matteo Passeri alongside to assist him.
