Everton coach Carlo Ancelotti spoke about the title race between Inter, Juventus and Lazio in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Deejay earlier today.

“It’s a compelling league unlike in the recent past, this year it’s an open and uncertain battle. Saying who is favoured is complicated, Juve may be more favoured in some ways and because they are used to winning.

“Inter have enthusiasm for their new coach, Lazio are a surprise and they don’t have the history. I think Juve have the advantage of having a player who scores every match. But Immobile and Lukaku do the same.”

Ancelotti then spoke about Inter’s January transfer window highlight, Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen.

“Eriksen is a complete midfielder, he can play between the lines or as deep-lying midfielder. For characteristics I see him close to Pirlo, linear in the game, easy to pass, nice shot from outside. Eriksen in front of the defence? Yes, he could also play there, but he’s great up front as well. He’s a very complete midfielder.

Inter are currently 3rd in the league table after 24 games, sitting two points behind the Biancocelesti and three points behind rivals and league leaders the Bianconeri.

The Nerazzurri have suffered from a period of disappointing form, winning only two games out of their last five in the league. A win against Sampdoria tomorrow night is crucial so the Milanese club don’t drop too far behind in the title race.

Eriksen has made six appearances across all competitions so far this season for the Nerazzurri, after joining from Premier League side Tottenham in the January transfer window. He scored his first Inter goal earlier this week, against Ludogorets in a 2-0 win in the Europa League.
