A report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport has highlighted how Inter striker Lautaro Martinez’s form has dropped since the rumours linking him with Barcelona appeared.

The report details how the 22-year-old Argentine striker started the season incredibly strongly, before rumours linking him with a huge move to Spanish giants Barcelona in the summer began to appear.

Inter aren’t worried about the interest from the Blaugrana and their strategy regarding Lautaro hasn’t changed. The player has only scored three goals since mid-December.

Barcelona know that Lautaro’s €111 million release clause can only be paid during the first two weeks of July, the report highlights, and want to work with Inter to sign the player. The Catalan club don’t want a repeat of the drama surrounding their signing of French striker Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid last summer.

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta knows that it’s difficult to turn down Barcelona and so wants to increase Lautaro’s release clause to €130-140 million.
