Udinese talisman and Inter target Rodrigo De Paul spoke about the January transfer window market rumours linking him with a move to the Nerazzurri in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia earlier today, following on from Udinese’s draw against Bologna.

“The transfer window rumours have not affected me. Maybe two years ago they did, but because it all started there. But not at the moment, experience makes you understand what football and the transfer market are like.”

De Paul, who is contracted to the Friulian club until 2024, has made 23 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1837 minutes. In that time, he has scored five goals and provided three assists, being a consistent focus point in the squad.

Udinese are currently 15th in the league after 25 games, sitting only five points ahead of the relegation zone. Today’s 1-1 draw against Bologna will be especially bitter for the club, considering that the equalising goal was scored in extra time.

Inter were linked with De Paul for a January move, due to coach Antonio Conte’s desire for more attacking options, considering the consistent reliance on Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku and Argentine forward Lautaro Martinez.
