Several Inter executives were present at the team’s training ground in Appiano Gentile this morning, following on from the announcement of the postponement of the Nerazzurri’s league clash against Sampdoria this evening, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia earlier today.

The report details how the recent coronavirus scare in the Lombardy and Veneto regions of Italy has led the government to suspend large scale sporting events in these two regions, in order to slow the spread of the virus. Three other Serie A matches were postponed, Torino’s game against Parma, Atalanta’s game against Sassuolo and Hellas Verona’s clash with Cagliari.

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta, sporting director Piero Ausilio, club president Steven Zhang and chief executive Alessandro Antonello all meet at Appiano Gentile this morning, the report continues, whilst the first team underwent their usual training session.

The executives met to discuss the situation and specifically how it will affect the Nerazzurri’s Europa League clash against Ludogorets on Thursday next week.
