Inter’s Europa League match against Bulgarian champions Ludogorets will still go ahead on Thursday, despite the fears of the growing coronavirus in the region, according to a report from Italian news outlet ANSA yesterday.

The report details how the game will have to be moved to a neutral stadium if the Italian government continues to take the protective measures for the sporting events in Lombardy and Veneto. The game could be played behind closed doors, if the players’ safety can be guaranteed.

UEFA has been in continuous contact with the Italian authorities who are managing emergency, the report continues, as well as staying in contact with the involved clubs. Four Serie A matches were postponed yesterday due to the fears.

Inter beat the Bulgarian side in their away league meeting last week, where Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen and Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku secured a vital away win for the Milanese club.
