Arsenal’s Aubameyang Is Inter’s Current Favourite To Replace Lautaro Martinez If He Departs

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is currently top of Inter’s shortlist of potential Lautaro Martinez replacements according to a report from FCInterNews.it.

Amid continued interest from Barcelona in Lautaro, Inter have started the process of finding a replacement so they are prepared in the event that the 22-year-old Argentine international striker departs the club come the end of this season.

Arsenal captain Aubameyang is the current favourite of the Inter management and there has already been contact made with his representatives over a possible move to the Nerazzurri.

Aubameyang aside, RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner is also a player of interest to Inter but the report warns a move for him would be particularly difficult with it looking likely that he will join Liverpool, who are ready to pay his €58 million release clause.

The report goes on to add that Inter like Napoli’s Dries Mertens too but are looking at him as more of a replacement for Alexis Sanchez rather than Lautaro Martinez.
