Barcelona and Real Madrid are to go head to head as they attempt to sign Lautaro Martinez from Inter according to a report in today’s print edition of Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo.

Barcelona have long been linked with the 22-year-old striker and seemingly see him as a long term replacement for the ageing Luis Suarez, whose contract is due to expire at the end of next season.

Real Madrid meanwhile wish to bring in the Argentine national team forward having watched last Summer’s striker signing Luka Jovic flop and because current starting striker Karim Benzema not getting any younger.

The report goes on to state that Barcelona’s well documented internal problems could put Lautaro off of a potential move to them but Barcelona hope to convince him with the way they go in for him and hope that the chance to play alongside compatriot Lionel Messi could swing things in their favour.
