Respected Italian football pundit Fabrizio Biasin has shared his belief that Christian Eriksen will start for Inter in this weekend’s Derby D’Italia match-up away to Juventus.

The recently turned 28-year-old has started each of Inter’s past two games across all competitions, scoring once and also assisting once over the course of the two games.

Eriksen arrived at Inter in a circa €20 million deal from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur and having been slowly integrated into the side by Inter manager Antonio Conte in recent weeks, Biasin believes that the former Ajax man will once again be among the starters at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday night.

“Conte must keep tactical alternatives in mind and with someone like Eriksen, a 4-3-1-2 system could be functional. I expect the Dane to be a starter against Juventus,” Biasin said in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Sportiva earlier on today.

He then went on to discuss a comparison that has been made between Eriksen and former Inter attacker Dennis Bergkamp: “Eriksen is like Bergkamp? They are not comparable football has changed a lot in recent times.”

In conclusion Biasin also spoke on the future of Inter linked Dries Mertens at Napoli with his contract set to expire at the end of this season.

“In my opinion, I think he is thinking of staying in Naples but it will take maximum availability from the club and it seems to me that there has maybe been some strain on their relations recently.”
